King of Prussia

While residents of King of Prussia enjoy country living, all the amenities of the East Coast are within easy reach. New York City is located approximately 100 miles north and Washington D.C. is located approximately 150 miles south. Atlantic City is located an hour and a half to the north. Harrisburg International, Philadelphia International and Lehigh Valley International airports provide easy access to air transportation.

The Upper Merion School District is known for the tremendous support from the community, proficient staff and overall excellent environment for students. This district has a separate Educational Fund that exists to supplement the basic school programs by providing new educational opportunities that would not otherwise be available. The fund goes towards scholastic enhancement, arts and education, and professional development.

There are numerous opportunities for higher learning in and around the area. Bryn Mawr College and Villanova University are all located in the area. Ursinus College, a small independent liberal arts college, is located in nearby Collegeville. Montgomery County Community College is located in Blue Bell, approximately 25 minutes away.

When it comes to recreational opportunities, Montgomery County has it all. Valley Forge offers a look back at history, but also has picnic areas, cabins and activities such as camping, horseback riding, swimming, fishing and hiking. Also offered is an 18-hole golf course within the state park. In addition to the recreational activities, a reenactment of Washington's march into Valley Forge takes place every December. Historical attractions like the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall are located in Philadelphia. Skiing is available at Spring Mount, and Sesame Place—a park that opened its gates more than 20 years ago and is the inspiration for the children's show Sesame Street—is also located a short 45-minute drive away.

When it comes to shopping, the community has it all. In addition to the King of Prussia Plaza and Court, there are several other shopping areas nearby. South Street, a legendary place for cool clothes, great bars and an eclectic mix of people, and Jewelers Row, America's oldest and second largest diamond district in the country, are both located in Philadelphia.
